The first Heartbeat watch from Frederique Constant was launched in 1994. The reason to make Heart Beat watches was to show that the watch is mechanical. That's why there is an aperture in the dial at the position of the balance wheel to show the heartbeat of the mechanical movement. In 2004, the brand launched its first ever in-house movement, which was a Heart Beat Manufacture movement. Major changes were made to this new movement such as shifting the “heartbeat” to 6 o’clock position which required massive craftsmanship. This brought the heart beat watch collection to a higher degree of technique and elegance. The FC-930 is still the same heart beat movement but the manufacturing process has been upgraded through the years.
